INTUITIVE WORKFLOW FOR A GREAT SIMULATION EXPERIENCE
You only need a few clicks to get RealFlow | Maya running. Ready-to-use force daemons, GPU-powered fluids and materials, and a fast OpenVDB mesher make it easy to achieve the perfect simulation.
RealFlow directly inside Cinema 4D. Now you can achieve high-end simulations| Cinema 4D gives you the best in fluid simulation, with an even easier workflow.
TURBULENCE FD INTEGRATION
Fire meet gasoline
• Apply the TurbulenceFD Emitter tag directly to RealFlow emitters, fluids, elastics or rigids and watch the fireworks.
MESHER FLUID WEIGHTS
Because coffee with milk looks lighter
• An independent Vertex Map for every emitter allows you to customize the shading of your meshes the way you were expecting.
LIQUIDS
RealFlow offers two fundamental types of liquids: Particle-based liquids are mainly used for small- or medium-scaled projects. Hybrid-based liquids are well-suited for the simulation of large-scale scenes, and they provide the possibility of adding secondary elements (splashes, foam, mist, bubbles) for realistic results.
MULTI-PHYSICS
Create and combine different materials like liquids, granular substances, or rigid and elastic bodies under a single simulation engine. RealFlow’s high-performance Dyverso technology is GPU-accelerated and gives you unmatched control over your simulations.
CARONTE
RealFlow’s fully-featured, multi-threaded body dynamics engine is named “Caronte”. Rigid bodies feature fast and accurate collisions, and a natural behaviour. Soft bodies support plastic and elastic free form deformation – even with high-resolution meshes.
FLUID SURFACES (“REALWAVE”)
RealWave meshes can be influenced and deformed through objects, particles, and many – freely combinable – wave generators for highly-realistic ocean surfaces. Other features are the export of displacement maps, creation of crest splashes, support of custom geometry, and the simulation of floating bodies with downstream forces.
TEXT TOOLS, OBJECTS, SPLINES
An editor lets you create text elements and use them in simulations. RealFlow’s objects can be turned into rigid, elastic, or soft bodies; they also act as containers or obstacles for liquid simulations. Splines are created inside RealFlow or imported as SVG files, e.g. for particle emission or custom forces.
EXTERNAL FORCES
Forces are introduced through easy-to-use daemons. Many forces can be scaled, bounded, and limited to control their scope and behaviour. Examples for daemons are gravity, attraction, wind, vortices, drag, or spline-based forces. It also possible to introduce custom forces through Python, C++, and Graphs – RealFlow’s node-based programming system.
RENDER
Easy steps to import your scene, add the fluids and render them out from RealFlow. Valid for still frames or animation sequences. Powered by the most advanced physically-based render engine: Maxwell Render™.
MESHES
RealFlow’s mesh engines are fast, and support particle- and grid-based fluids. The meshes store data like age or velocity, and they can be refined through filters. Clipping and polygon optimization is available, as well as various industry-standard formats for data exchange. Grid fluid meshes can be enhanced through displacement maps.
SHAPING TOOLS
RealFlow has tools for the creation of crown splashes and the filling of holes in particle fluid simulations. The latter one cares for thin, cohesive sheets of fluid and supports the forming of tendril structures.
INDUSTRY-STANDARD FILE FORMATS
RealFlow is capable of reading and writing Alembic® files with particles and geometry. An integrated stitching tool combines individual Alembic® files from sequences to a single file. Furthermore, RealFlow reads and writes OpenVDB® and Field3D® files with volumetric data.
NETWORK SIMULATIONS
RealFlow uses “Independent Domains of Computation” (IDOCs) to distribute simulations over a network. Separate “Job Manager” and “Job Node” applications help to manage and organize simulations. An open C++ plugin architecture makes it possible to customize the process of sending projects to the manager. The simulation progress can be monit
ored with every web browser or a built-in panel.
PROGRAMMING INTERFACES
Programming made easier. In RealFlow’s “Graphs” system, programs are created by connecting nodes with pre-defined functions, and help to accomplish almost any task, e.g. fast manipulation of fields, spatial viscosity, custom forces, or image processing. RealFlow offers interfaces to Python 2.7 and C++.
